Chapter One · Childhood

Where everyone else saw work, I saw wonder.

I was born in Italy. My father was a builder. From age ten, he would take my brothers and me to job sites. To everyone else they seemed like simple work; to me they were filled with magic and possibility.

I watched every stage of transformation. An empty piece of land becoming a home. A foundation becoming walls. Walls becoming shelter. It wasn’t just construction. It was creation.

The Journey

From wonder, to learning, to the weight of someone’s home.

  1. Age 10

    Wonder

Following my father onto construction sites in Italy. Watching the land become something more than land.

  2. Teenage Years

    Learning

Working with my hands beside his. Knowledge passed down the way it always has been: by doing, not by talking.

  3. Technical School

    Understanding

Drawings, structures, the language behind the craft. Tradition meeting the precision the work demands.

  4. Today

    Responsibility

Building in Brooklyn. Holding, in my hands, the trust of every family who comes through our door.

Chapter Two · Philosophy

More than walls and roofs.

Building a house means more than constructing walls and roofs. It means bringing people’s dreams to life. Creating the place where a family will grow, where Sunday meals will be shared, where children take their first steps, where life’s most precious memories will be made.

“When I begin a new project, I don’t see a structure to be built. I see the trust placed in my hands.”

What Guides Our Work

Four words. Forty years of meaning.

Integrity

The value of keeping your word. Every commitment, honored. Every detail, executed with care.

Craftsmanship

Trained since childhood. Refined through experience. Every project built as if it were for our own family.

Respect

For the families whose dreams we’re building. For the sacrifices they’ve made. For the lives that will unfold within these walls.

Passion

A love born in Italy, nurtured alongside my father, and transformed into a lifelong commitment to this craft.

Families

When Giuseppe handed us the keys, I cried. He didn't just build us a house. He built our family's future.

Frequently Asked

Answers, before you call.

Are you licensed and insured to work in New York City?

Yes. Manno General Construction is fully licensed through the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection and carries comprehensive liability and workers' compensation insurance on every job.

What services do you specialize in?

Roofing, carpentry, stone, demolition, metal, plaster, sheetrock, stucco, fence, concrete, brick and tile. Interior and exterior, residential and commercial.

Do you provide free estimates?

Yes. We come out, walk the project with you, and provide a detailed, itemized estimate so you know exactly what's included before any work begins.

Will you pull the NYC Department of Buildings permits for my project?

When permits are required, we handle the entire filing and inspection process with the NYC DOB so the work is fully code-compliant.

What areas do you serve?

We're based at 427 Kings Highway in Brooklyn and primarily serve Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Manhattan.

Do you have experience with historic Brooklyn brownstones?

Yes. Three generations of training in traditional masonry, brick pointing and plaster work let us restore historic brownstones without losing the character that makes them special.

How does your payment schedule work?

Milestone-based and transparent. Typically an initial deposit followed by progress payments tied to the completion of clearly defined phases. No surprises.

Do you offer a warranty on your work?

Yes. We stand behind both our craftsmanship and the materials we install, and we'll come back to make it right if something isn't.

How long will my project take?

It depends on scope, permits and material lead times. You'll get a clear schedule from day one and regular updates from Giuseppe directly as work progresses.

How do I get started?

Call Giuseppe at (929) 461-9629 or send a note through the contact page. He'll personally reach out to discuss the project and schedule a site visit.

The Greatest Reward

“When I hand over the keys and see the emotion in homeowners’ eyes, I think back to the little boy following his father through construction sites. After all these years, I still feel that very same excitement.”

Because to me, this is not just a job. It is a passion.
